Trading
Partial Close
Closing a portion of an open position to secure profits.
Full Definition
Partial close (or scaling out) involves closing part of your position while leaving the remainder open. This technique locks in some profit while allowing the rest of the trade to potentially reach higher targets. Common approaches include closing 50% at the first target.
Example
You open 1 lot and the trade reaches your first target. You close 0.5 lots to secure profit and let the remaining 0.5 lots run with a trailing stop.
